Remember once upon a time during the Olympics when I said I was going to give away our friend Lopez's book?
Well, after a three-week battle with an ear infection and surviving my daughter's 4th birthday that time has ARRIVED! As you know if you watched his race, Lopez placed 10th in the 5,000 meter race. Mo Farah was the winner that day and wow, was that race ever amazing (and for a funny aside, check out Mo Farah Running Away From Things. It's by far my current favorite nerd runner thing!). We loved cheering for Lopez on race day even though we were frustrated with the coverage and I loved knowing so many of you were rooting for him too. Thank you for your support, and Lopez we hope to see you compete in the finals again at the Olympics in Rio in 2016!
And now, without further ado, the winner of Lopez's book!
Commenter number 5, Irma Robles, you are the winner! Irma is inspired by her 14-year-old son, who was diagnosed with diabetes at age 9 and has faced his disease with courage and determination. So awesome, and frankly I'm inspired by Joe too. Congratulations on winning the book and on having an amazing son, Irma!
If you didn't win you can still get a copy of Lopez's book here. It's a read you won't want to miss! You can also follow Lopez on Facebook, twitter, and get more info about the 4 South Sudan Foundation through his website. He'll be taking a book tour soon so check to see if he'll be in a city near you so you can meet him in person!
